Creating brand photography for client website

12 Jul 2017

It’s such a satisfying feeling when you can see clear results on a project and thoughts, ideas and concepts come together to create something that really works. A recent photoshoot for one of my clients, Kaveney HR Solutions Ltd. proved to be one of those magical days when things truly fall into place. Of course, it helps to be working with a business that is open to ideas, a talented and creative photographer that knows exactly what he’s doing and a beautiful city with plenty of crevices and corners to explore, providing the perfect backdrop for your pics…

Sue Kaveney, Managing Director and founder of Carlisle-based Kaveney HR Solutions Ltd. has recently celebrated 9 years in business (well done Sue). In the run up to the ‘BIG 10’ next year (exciting plans to be announced soon) we have been doing some work reviewing Sue’s digital presence, the external face of the business and the company brand -  which included a revamp of her website.

First up, we needed some eye-catching, contemporary images that would capture the spirit of Kaveney HR Solutions and all that it can offer. Working with local photographer Danny Fowler from D&H Photography we looked at what made Sue stand apart from her competitors and brought this into the brief.

Sue was born and bred in Carlisle and is very proud of her home city – as well as the people within it. Given her commitment and passion for the area, doing something location-based was an obvious choice. We talked to her clients and contacts and it became clear that her sunny personality and infectious enthusiasm was integral to her success. She is passionate about helping others, incredibly supportive of local charities and volunteers her time on a regular basis. We wanted to bring all that into the photos and looked at how we could capture it on film. Using the different backdrops in Carlisle, dropping Sue in the middle and letting Danny loose with his magic camera worked like a dream – we hope that people recognise some of the more hidden corners of Carlisle and the pictures not only showcase Sue’s talents, but display the city in a positive light.

The set of photos include well-known landmarks such as Carlisle Castle, the overpass bridge, a brightly painted wall mural near Hardwicke Circus, the market cross in Greenmarket and some more, hidden corners of the city.

Not only did we have a highly productive day and got some great shots – it was also a lot of fun.

Using the new images, we worked with the team at Web Industry to ensure a mobile responsive design for the website. We reviewed and refreshed all the website content being careful to detail all Sue’s services and experience in a user-friendly style and format. Adding testimonials, case studies and a new blog feature completed the look. We have also added links to social media platforms and made it easy for users to locate and share content.

Visit Sue’s new website at www.kaveney-hr.co.uk to see the finished results or hop on over to Facebook to see photos of the shoot and people's reactions.

We’d love to hear your thoughts.
