Client: Borderlines Carlisle Book Festival (Voluntary role)

Brief: To provide marketing & comms support for Carlisle based book festival.

Description: The Borderlines Book Festival is an annual celebration of the written and spoken word, focussing on literary excellence by attracting high quality speakers and nurturing and showcasing local writing talent; providing new opportunities for local people to experience literature in direct, accessible and dynamic ways; and helping to foster literary skills within the community. The festival strives to promote a life-long love of reading across all sections and ages of the community. Organised and managed by a steering group (voluntary) and supported by a team of other volunteers, the festival takes place in October across several local venues. There’s a mixture of talks, workshops and online opportunities.

Responsible for marketing & comms I provide advice and support on strategy and planning as well as actively delivering practical tasks, across both digital and print.

Support provided: (on a voluntary basis). Strategy and planning; production of promotional print and outdoor banners; social media campaigns; event planning; PR; leaflet distribution; direct mailing; copy writing etc.
