Hospice at Home West Cumbria 2022-2023

Client: Hospice at Home West Cumbria

Project: PR & Comms support for a palliative care charity.

Brief: To provide ongoing PR & comms support for palliative care charity to cover a transition period between managers (6 month period).

Description: Hospice at Home West Cumbria provides high quality end of life care and bereavement support for patients and their families. Due to delays with recruitment, the charity found itself without a comms lead and needed some support with day-to-day PR & Comms activity. As I have worked with them previously (and am a long-term supporter of the charity) they asked me to assist with the delivery of internal and external campaigns across various channels.

Support provided: Ongoing support with all PR & comms activity across a 6 month period; social media content creation and management across 4 channels; copy writing, editing and proofing for digital and print products; campaign planning for annual events and fundraising initiatives; support and advice on product / service development; compilation of press releases and media liaison; full handover and onboarding support for new staff member once in post.

Testimonial: “Rachel came to help us with our marketing and communications when we experienced a period of staff shortage and her input proved to be invaluable. Rachel quickly integrated into the team, taking time to understand and feel our organisation, and helped us identify what our priorities needed to be. A first-class content writer, with impeccable attention to detail, Rachel not only produced some fantastic material, she also became someone I could rely on and it felt like a relief to have Rachel on our team.  Rachel’s ability to deliver to tight deadlines, getting the tone and key messages across perfectly, is fantastic. I could not recommend Rachel more highly and would have no hesitation in engaging her in any future work we have available.”
