Thriving Communities

Client: Thriving Communities Partnership

Project: Thriving Communities

Brief: To provide marketing & comms support, helping to create a marketing plan, develop a visual identity for the scheme and produce promotional products (digital and print) to aid recruitment.

Description: Thriving Communities Carlisle is a partnership supporting local communities to recover from the impact of COVID-19 using social, arts, culture, nature-based and wellbeing activities. Partners include Tullie House, Carlisle City Council, Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Prism Arts, Susie Tate Projects, NCIC and Carlisle Healthcare. Partner organisations worked together to create a 6-week programme of activities held at community hubs around the city. Aimed at adults who may be finding it hard to adjust to life after lockdown, the sessions were free and depending on what they have enjoyed they are then signposted to further opportunities.

Challenges: Due to funding announcements, timescales were incredibly tight and we had to make sure that we met the needs of all partners so extra consultation time had to be factored in.

Support provided: I provided advice and practical support to the Project Co-Ordinator, creating an initial marketing plan, and help with the creation of promotional materials. Other support included copy writing, proofing, liaising with designers to create a bold visual identity and help with PR and social media.

Client feedback: "Rachel is quite honestly one of the most professional, warm, dedicated and creative marketing professionals I’ve ever worked with. She always goes above and beyond for her clients and brings an incredible level of clarity and organisation to projects large and small. I would whole heartedly recommend Rachel’s services and look forward to working with her throughout 2022."

Anna Smalley, Head of Collections & Engagement at Tullie House

Additional Information: I was commissioned for a second contract during 2023 to assist with phase two of the project. This involved working with 6 community centres to establish a year round programme of creative and nature-based activities for adults to improve wellbeing and reduce social isolation. I supported the project co-ordinator by creating a comms plan and assisting with delivery.
